advice is expensive, is it not? Underwater-housings are
made of metal or plastic. The seawater resistent aluminium of the metal
housings are anodized, undercoated and painted. The plastic housings
are made of transparent and impact resistant plastic or of carbon fiber
reinforced plastic. Why a housing? The possibility to use the already
tested ashore camera now underwater, or the enormous bandwith of the
objectives are two reasons. An other extremely important reason is, to
use the bright sport-view-finder of the modern reflexcameras also underwater.
For which camera and the suitable housing one decides, should be well
considered.
